Configure your ship’s power management system (PMS) to prevent power outages, ensure reliable operations and optimise your energy sources' efficiency with ComAp’s effective vessel PMS solutions. Our Power Management System will help you control the ship's auxiliary and emergency power generators and any other energy source while enabling shore connection when the ship is docked.
ComAp’s AC Power Management System (PMS) provides fully automatic operation of the generators, including load-dependent start/stop, power band control, running hours equalisation, automatic synchronisation, and load-sharing. ComAp’s AC PMS offers a reliable, continuous, and effective solution for power generation which can also be used for variable speed generators or shaft generators.
Our solution can be used for automatic synchronisation of the ship's generators and shore connection while docking in the port or any bus tie breaker control, protection, and synchronisation.
ComAp’s DC PMS provides fully automatic operation of the battery energy storage system, including load-dependent start/stop, power band control, running hours equalisation, automatic synchronisation, and load-sharing through conversion devices such as rectifiers, inverters, and DC/DC converters. ComAp’s DC PMS offers a reliable, continuous, and effective solution for power generation which can also be used for shaft generators, fuel cells, and other DC energy sources.
Our solution can be used for automatic synchronisation of the ship's energy sources and shore connection while docking in the port or any bus tie breaker control, protection, and synchronisation.
Our AC+DC PMS, or hybrid system, can accommodate any combination of AC and DC energy sources to provide a reliable, continuous and effective solution for power generation control and optimisation.
ComAp’s shore connection solution can provide a reliable, closed transition from the ship’s energy sources to mains power to prevent temporary power outages on the ship, as well as provide a charging solution for battery energy storage systems while the ship is docked.
The shaft generator is coupled to the main propulsion engine shaft and operates in various modes, either supplementing the vessel’s energy sources by converting the mechanical energy from the shaft to electrical energy or supplementing the propulsion engine by converting electrical energy from the vessel’s energy sources to mechanical energy through a gearbox.
ComAp's PMS can include the shaft generator in its automatic operation and optimisation of the ship's energy sources, including load-dependent start/stop, power band control, running hours’ equalisation, automatic synchronisation and load-sharing, providing a reliable, continuous, and effective solution for power management.
In the unlikely event of a complete failure of the ship’s power management system, an Emergency Generator can be used as a backup source of energy. The emergency generator feeds the emergency BUS and is excluded from the ship’s PMS. During this critical time, the emergency generator provides power to key loads until the main energy sources are brought back online.
ComAp's intelligent control units provide the monitoring, protection, and control necessary for the operation of the Emergency Generator.
ComAp’s Alarm Management System provides a large capacity for the integration of third-party systems such as fuel pumps, air conditioning, preheating, firefighting systems, and signalization.
Built-in PLC logic fulfills customer requirements for complex systems, allowing collection and analysis of external signals and displays them on our HMI colour screens or through industrial protocols such as Modbus on third-party displays.
ComAp's AC and DC PMS solutions provide the necessary control and optimisation for a variety of vessels and energy sources. From load sharing to run-hour equalisation and heavy consumer integration, to basic monitoring, protection, and blackout start, our solutions can improve the efficiency of cargo vessels, tug boats, OSVs, and many other types of vessels.
Merchant Vessels are an integral part of the global supply chain, and therefore require a reliable power management system.
ComAp's solution for this type of vessels offers:
Workboats, such as tugboats, perform the critical task of assisting vessels in safe navigation through harbours, canals, and other restricted waterways. With our AC and DC PMS products and solutions, workboat owners can further improve and optimise their vessels’ performance.
ComAp’s solutions for this type of vessel offer:
Passenger vessels vary in size and voyage duration, however, they all require reliable power management to support the various electrical loads needed to ensure safe vessel operation and exceptional passenger experience.
ComAp's solutions for these types of vessels offer:
