Transitioning to more sustainable energy sources is on top of the power generation and energy management agenda. This specialized training program offers an introduction to Hybrid Microgrid Controllers, highlighting their key features and practical applications. The course includes an overview of InteliConfig, covers the fundamentals of configuring InteliNeo 5500/6000 controllers for specific control functions, and concludes with hands-on simulations using our Starter Kits.

After successfully completing this training session, participants will receive ComAp certificates of completion for the course. a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb; } tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6; } tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5; } ComAp certificates are provided at all training locations worldwide, and we ensure that knowledge and expertise remain at the same level.

This course is suitable for customers who are new to Hybrid Microgrid segment or are not familiar with ComAp products and applications.

Agenda

DAY 1
09:00 - 12:00 Hybrid Microgrid overview
A Basics of hybrid microgrids (HMG), explaining energy sources (renewables, generators, batteries, grid), operational modes, and the benefits and challenges of hybrid microgrid systems. It provides an overview of Comap's HMG product profolio - including InteliNeo controllers, accessories, and software tools - and outlines key functions such as energy management, power conversion, system compatibilty, and practical applications in both on-grid and off-grid scenarios.
12:00 - 13:00 Lunch break
12:45 - 16:00 Basics of Configuration & PLC Editor
Practical guide to configuring and programming hybrid microgrid controllers, and their integration with energy sources like BESS, PV, gensets, and mains. It covers essential topics such as controller setup, application selection, power management, protection settings, and the use of the PLC Editor for custom logic, automation, and troubleshooting.

DAY 2
09:00 - 12:00 Communication
Fundametal of communication in hybrid microgrid systems, detailing the interfaces and protocols like Modbus and Sunspec used for connecting controllers, power conversion systems, and third-party devices. It covers cybersecurity practices, user management, firewall configuration, and practical steps for establishing secure and reliable communication between system components, with hands-on exercises for Ethernet, AirGate, and inverter integration.
12:00 - 13:00  Lunch break
13:00 - 16:30 Starterkits simulations & test & feedback
Hands-on simulation exercises for hybrid microgrid systems, using a simulation kit to explore various operational scenarios. Participants experience configuring and testing island and parallel operations, power management, dynamic spinning reserve, seamless transitions between grid and island modes, and renewables energy curtailment.
